INCLUSION
Everybody matters equally
In the UK 13.9m people have a disability, with many disabilities being invisible, and with an ageing population the number who are potentially excluded from at least some activities is increasing.
Exacerbating the issue is the prejudice against disabled people: one in three said that "there is a lot of prejudice against disabled people in Britain" (Scope UK) - read more here: blc009_disability-perception-gap-report.pdf. |

This project explored Transport Related Social Exclusion (TRSE) across the North, and involved a multi-disciplinary team also including Beyond Logic Consulting, Social Research Associates and Temple. The study involved a mix of qualitative and quantitative research, stakeholder interviews and secondary data analysis. The outputs included an understanding of which groups within the population are most impacted by TRSE, what the causes of TRSE are, and what the appropriate mitigation are.
The use of Behavioural Science ensured that the hidden dimensions of human behaviour were taken into account alongside the quantitative data on transport provision and demographics. |
